Spend time one on one with Ianto Evans during this weekend course for those in love with fire. Learn how fire burns, what makes combustion efficient, how to build the ultimate in snug, energy-saving campfires, stoves, and fireplaces for cooking and comfort, all hand-made at almost no cost. Rocket Mass Heaters by Ianto Evans and Leslie Jackson has made these incredibly clean-burning wood burners big news.

Ianto and Lasse will be teaching with help from other pyromaniacs. Ianto has over 30 years experience worldwide with stove design (see Lorena Stoves, 1980).  He has also consulted to wood burning stoves to USAID, World Bank and several national governments.  Lasse lives with Rocket Stoves and teaches in the cold of Homer Alaska!

We'll build a Rocket Mass Heater, explain what makes you comfortable, cover basics of combustion, fuels, etc. and light a lot of fires. These stoves are easy to build with scavenged materials, offering maximal efficiency at minimal cost. Many cob builders install rocket bench heaters, piping their stove through a cob bench or bed, making a cozy place to hang out in the winter months. We'll explore firewood, fuels, comfort, and heating our bodies not buildings. Join us for lots of fun by the fire.  Our system can be built with cob for almost nothing.
