Rocket Mass Heaters by Ianto Evans and Leslie Jackson has made these incredibly clean-burning wood stoves big news. Ianto has over 40 years of experience worldwide with stove design (see Ianto's book Lorena Stoves, 1980). He has consulted on wood burning stoves to USAID, Peace Corps, World Bank and several national governments.

Spend time one on one with Ianto during this weekend course for those in love with fire. Learn how wood burns, what makes combustion efficient, how to build the ultimate in snug, energy-saving campfires, stoves, and fireplaces for cooking, water heating and comfort, all hand-made at almost no cost.

We'll mock up or build a Rocket Mass Heater, explain thermal comfort, cover basics of combustion, fuels, heat transfer, etc. and light a lot of fires. These stoves are easy to build with scavenged materials, offering maximal efficiency at minimal cost. Many cob builders install rocket bench heaters, piping heat through a cob bench or bed to make a cozy place to hang out in the winter months. We'll play with various designs. We have over half a dozen Rocket Stoves on site for heating, cooking and hot water.

Join us for lots of fun by the fire. Send for a copy of Rocket Mass Heaters ($22 or 2 for $40 postpaid from CCC). Read it before the workshop! For personalized attention and hands on learning, this course is limited to 10 participants, first come basis.
