series of natural building workshops in Michigan and Tennessee to help
minimize travel for those desiring to learn Cob and other NB
techniques!  It is no longer necessary to travel all the way to Oregon
to learn the same techniques right in your own area, from our top

The focus of this workshop will be answering that key question, “Now
what?!” that comes after the bales are up, the cob has dried, the
subfloor is tamped.   Now how do you protect all those surfaces and give
them beautiful colors and polish?   How do you integrate windows and
doors seamlessly into the larger wall?   How do you cap the ridge of the
thatched roof to shed water from ridge to eaves?   And how do you
express your creativity with sculpted plaster and cob highlights and bas
relief?

Mixing and applying clay finish plasters
Lime plastering
Choosing your plaster recipe
Building with cob
Sculptural cob and bas relief plaster
Earthen floor finish coat and sealing
